Naperville's business scene is about to get even busier.

From a major outdoor retailer to soup dumplings, peri-peri chicken, Yemeni coffee and authentic Uzbek cuisine, several new businesses are preparing to open around Naperville this fall.

And many of them are concentrating around the Route 59 corridor.

Here's what's coming.

1. L.L.Bean — Westridge Court

One of the biggest openings is L.L.Bean, which is preparing to open a new 16,000-square-foot store at Westridge Court.

The outdoor retailer is taking over space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond near Route 59.

The store is expected to open September 25, according to recent reporting. It will become L.L.Bean's fourth Illinois store, joining locations in Oak Brook, South Barrington and Skokie.

The new location will carry many of the company's best-known outdoor and lifestyle products, including its iconic Bean Boots and Boat and Tote bags.

2. Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings — Block 59

Another notable name is joining the rapidly growing Block 59 development.

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings plans to open a Naperville restaurant in one of the buildings still being developed at the dining and entertainment complex.

The restaurant traces its roots to Flushing, New York, where its first location opened in 2006.

Its menu features items including crab and pork soup dumplings, pan-fried buns, noodles and stir-fried rice cakes.

The brand opened its first Illinois restaurant in Chicago on August 29, making the future Naperville restaurant its second Illinois location.

An opening date for Naperville hasn't been announced yet.

3. Vasco's Peri Peri — South Route 59

Naperville is also getting another option for peri-peri chicken.

Vasco's Peri Peri is preparing to open at 3124 S. Route 59, bringing its Indo-American and Portuguese-inspired menu to the city.

The restaurant already operates in Schaumburg, Lombard and Arlington Heights, making Naperville its fourth location.

The team is aiming for an end-of-September opening.

Its signature peri-peri chicken uses African bird's eye chili and can be served with rice, as a sandwich or on its own.

Other menu items include tandoori chicken burgers, chicken tikka on garlic naan and wraps.

4. Shibam Coffee — Route 59

The Yemeni coffee trend that's been expanding across the Chicago suburbs is also continuing in Naperville.

Shibam Coffee is planning a 5,000-square-foot location at 1120 S. Route 59.

The coffee shop is targeting a mid- to late-September opening.

Customers can expect traditional drinks such as Adeni chai alongside specialty beverages and refreshers.

And night owls may particularly appreciate this one: planned hours are 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

5. Tashkent Grill House — Springbrook Square

One of the most interesting additions may be Tashkent Grill House, planned for 1995 Springbrook Square Drive.

Executive chef and owner Djasur Khusanov plans to bring traditional Uzbek and other Central Asian dishes to Naperville, including Uzbek rice pilaf and Georgian khachapuri, a cheese-filled bread.

Khusanov brings more than 20 years of culinary experience from restaurants in Europe, Central Asia and the United States.

He is aiming to open Tashkent Grill House in October.

Route 59 Continues to Grow

What's particularly interesting about this latest round of openings is how much activity continues to cluster around Naperville's Route 59 corridor.

Westridge Court and the neighboring Block 59 development are attracting major retailers and restaurants, while additional businesses continue filling spaces farther south along Route 59.

And these five aren't the only arrivals.

Jamba and Auntie Anne's are also preparing to open their shared Westridge Court location this month — another opening we've been following closely.

Taken together, the announcements point to a busy fall for Naperville's shopping and dining scene.

Whether you're looking for outdoor gear, soup dumplings, peri-peri chicken, Yemeni coffee or Uzbek food, there should be quite a few new places to explore before the end of the year.
